Kindness and caring are among some of our Triangle cities’ best qualities according to WalletHub. The personal finance website recently compiled a list of 2016’s Most Caring Cities in America ranking Durham and our capital city of Raleigh among the top 25 most compassionate cities.
Coming in 18th and 22nd place, respectively, Durham and Raleigh scored well across three key dimensions—Caring for the Community, Caring for the Vulnerable, and Caring in the Workforce—reviewed through the 32 indicators WalletHub used to rank the nation’s 100 most populated cities.
According to the report, Durham ranked well among factors relating to Caring in the Workforce which included residents who work in the community, teacher and counselor care for students’ well-being, physicians and nurses per capita, etc. Raleigh also scored well in that division leading the pack in the lowest student-teacher ratio nationally.
