Young and looking to own your own home? Cary is the place; it is the fourth most-popular area for millennial homeowners to be exact. In a recent report by financial research site SmartAsset, Cary was recognized among 21 of the largest U.S. cities where “the homeownership rate for adults under the age of 35 has increased over the past decade.” Millennials, like the rest of us, love living in Cary.
So, what’s the draw? SmartAsset reported that millennials seek affordability often leading them to settle down in small- to mid-sized cities and towns. Positioned due west of Raleigh, the Town of Cary fits that bill. It has been dubbed a suburb of convenience with lifestyle offerings ideal for residents of all ages earning it recognition as one of the best places to live in the nation.
SmartAsset’s research showed that “the city’s 3.3% rise in under-35 homeownership since 2005 is the third-largest increase of any major U.S. city. Today, some 42.1% of millennials in Cary own their own home.”
