We all know that North Carolina is growing; we have added about 100,000 residents to our population between 2012 and 2013. If you’re having some trouble deciding on where you want to be in N.C., NerdWallet is highlighting the best spots in the state for homeownership! NerdWallet surveyed the 59 North Carolina cities with populations greater than 15,000 to find out which offer the best value for potential homeowners. They used three metrics to identify the top spots: are homes available, can you afford to live there, and is the area growing. The results highlight multiple Triangle-area locales as great places to own a home, including the #1 city in the state.
Here are the Triangle-area cities that made the top 20 spots on the list:
1. Holly Springs
3. Fuquay-Varina
4. Wake Forest
5. Clayton
6. Apex
8. Morrisville
11. Garner
14. Cary
18. Sanford
