Homebuilder Confidence Reaches Six Year High

U.S. homebuilder confidence continues to rise, reaching its highest level in six and a half years this month. The demand for new homes has grown, new home starts were at the fastest pace in four years in September, which is leading to greater optimism that the housing recovery will continue to strengthen next year. Home sales were strengthened by steady improvement in the job market and continuing low rates in the mortgage industry.  Sales rose 2.1% in October, and the sales pace is around 11% higher than last year.
