Are you a pepperphile? Do you love all things pepper? Then you should peddle over to the Pittsboro Pepper Festival to peruse some palatable pepper dishes! (Sorry.) The Pittsboro Pepper Festival started out as a small group doing a tasting event for local farmer Doug Jones’ seed saving and pepper breeding research, and has blossomed into a full-on festival with music, spirits, and local chefs all coming together to support sustainable agriculture education and research in North Carolina’s Piedmont. The proceeds from the Pittsboro Pepper Festival go to The Abundance Foundation and Piedmont Biofarm, both located at The Plant in Pittsboro. Over 30 chefs from around the Triangle will chose from a variety of local peppers to whip up their most creative pepper dish or drink. In addition to food, drink, and music, there will be a Pepper King and Queen, bubbles on the lawn, face painting, and educational activities.
The Pepper Festival will be on Sunday, October 14th from 3-7pm in Chapel Hill at Briar Chapel Community Park, visit their websitefor more info.
